This is the heartwarming moment residents rescued a mother dog that was trapped between metal fence railings while searching for food for her puppies.
Malai Butsawong, 68, woke up at dawn to the sound of mother stray crying for help in Chaiyaphum, northeastern Thailand on September 2.
She followed where the barks came from and found it stuck on the small gaps of a fence in their village. The pooch is believed to have been stuck for several hours while wandering around at night time.
Malai said: "I saw the poor pooch with the bleeding legs while crying in the morning when I was doing my morning routine. I am glad that the volunteers did not hesitate to save her life."
The dog's leg was bleeding while her hip and neck were trapped in the gap. The wound became worse the more she struggled to free herself.
Worried residents called the emergency services and told them what happened before they arrived at the scene with cutting gear.
The rescuers spent 30 minutes cutting away the thick metal while monitoring the dog's health as it was seriously bleeding.
Malai's neighbours also gathered near the rescue scene and gave emotional support to the animal and the team.
When the animal was freed, the rescuers patched its wound up with first aid. It was found to be living near the fence with its puppies, which had been waiting for it all night.
Malai and her neighbours now take care of the stray family while they look for people who might want to adopt them into their homes.
